This newest addition to the SWAT Generation 2.0 series was an emotional, heartbreaking read and yet it was one that I couldn’t stop myself from completing once I picked it up!

Avery Flynn has all the bad luck in the world –
I swear, I do not even know how this strong girl ended up facing each day like a challenge when all life has ever done is try and knock her off her feet. First her mother is killed in a car accident; then her father is killed in the line of duty. She is doing her best to stay afloat, attending the last year of her high school; all the while trying to make money with her photography side business and at the same time is the recipient of her fellow student’s cruelty and bullying. If that wasn’t enough, not only is she finding out secrets about her parent’s marriage, her home is being repossessed and someone is trying to kill her.

Avery just can’t seem to catch a break – even with the guy she seems to have a crush. I swear if I were in her position, i would never have even gathered the courage to ask my crush out like she did; even if she knows she will be shot down.

Derek, a cop in the police department that Avery’s father gave his life for; is trying very hard NOT to notice that Avery is all woman – she is forbidden and definitely off limits. Not only is she way too young for him; she is also a fellow officer’s kid and she deserves to be protected and perved upon *winks*

However, in spite of his every effort, it’s hard, really hard to ignore the fact that Avery is way beyond mature for her age, especially when he just can’t seem to control his protective instincts when it comes to her and her safety!

Yes, this is an age gap romance – but like every LLV book – the hero is swoon – worthy; the heroine is his perfect match;
with a stubborn and independent attitude that you can’t help but respect and adore for and the age difference is handled quite smoothly and with respect!

Another win for LLV; and I am all the more excited for the next book in the series!
