Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
4.0
This book had such a cute story and I love the commentary on life from the view of Klara, a robot whose job it is to befriend and care for a child, Josie. It’s so revealing and wonderful to see things from Klara’s POV — she is so innocent and naive and is able to relay her story (and Josie’s) with an unbiased frame of mind. As the reader, you never feel like she is void of emotion or not portraying love for the ones around her even though you very clearly know she is a robot. Definitely a good book to cleanse the palette after an intense fantasy read.
