On Immunity: An Inoculation by Eula Biss
5.0
This is exactly the book I needed when wading through first-time mom vaccine anxiety. Unfortunately, Biss was experiencing the same thing around the same time, so this serves as therapy and an “Amen sister!” instead.
Very relevant today, in the wake of Covid-19, her projections were even prophetic in many ways.
The study of the etymology of the language we use around disease and cures, and the references to literature made this a pleasure to listen to, even though the topic was often dark.
