To really hoped to enjoy this more than I actually did. I think the pacing through me off a bit, it was well over 1/3 if the book before we got to the actual school setting and learning of the magical world. And then it just kind of took off. There was so much happening and it wasn’t the clearest for character development. The only thing I caught was the elemental magic and botanists references. The ending does set you up for book 2 but I don’t think I’ll continue.
