You guys already know that I saw this book cover - done by one of my favorite new cover artists - and knew I had to read it. All three authors in this series are new-to-me, and I was excited to say the least. And if book 1 is anything to go by, I am in for a TREAT.
📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Fight by Sloane St. James
📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Sky Ridge Hot Shots character series by various authors. Book 1.
📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book on Kindle. 🆓️ on KU
📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲:
📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers, religious trauma, firefighters, PTSD rep, wilderness survival, forced proximity, reformed playboy.
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Scottie escaped her old life and made it to Sky Ridge, working as am EMT. She meets Callahan, a local wildfire hotshot who is known for his commitment issues. Their chemistry sizzles, but Scottie's past and Cal's fear of getting burned again put distance between them.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Absolutely loved this book.
It reads just like the cover - emotional, beautifully written, and hot as all get out. It was an interesting story, not following the normal romance novel linear format, with two complex characters and a whole lot of spice and dirty talk. I particularly loved the banter and dialogue between Cal and Scottie - there were times I was laughing, other times I was flinching at their words to one another.
I will say, these authors did some extreme research. The way they write about firefighting, especially during wildfires and the ins-and-outs of the trade makes it very easy to follow as a reader. I know they had an actual hotshot weigh in, and you can tell. This entire book was full of beautiful visuals that worked perfectly in my mind's eye.
I can't wait to dig into more of these books.
