Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds
4.0
Soooooooo I happen to have read this in one day because I couldn’t put it down. Oops.
I have read one book by Reynolds before — Forever ends on Friday — and enjoyed it a lot, it was just as heart wrenching and beautiful as this one. But somehow these characters made my heart ache even more.
I loved this story. It has the perfect mix of love between lovers, friends and family — both family by blood and not. Jack’s and Kate’s story is so magical and whimsical, not only because this book has the time travel element, no, because they just…sparkle? That sounds silly but that’s really how it feels to read about them.
This was a real page turner as you wasn’t sure how things would end until the very last chapters, I was on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. It is just something with Reynolds writing that is incredibly real and inviting. I love it.
I felt like the book was a bit slow around the 60% mark, but it got better again really quick. It sure picked up its pace but gosh, some things Jack did really aggravated me, hahah.
All in all this was a great book that really got you thinking about how precious each moment is.
