This is a decent crime/mystery novel with the protagonist J.J. Graves being a mortician and a part-time coroner in the little town of Bloody Mary, Virginia. Jaye helps his best friend, Sheriff Jack Lawson in pursuing an apparent serial-killer, while trying to live normally by getting a new boyfriend.

The book does not introduce much novelty to the genre, but the writing and the resolution of the mystery is done properly and it is readable.
