Wow, that was a ride unlike any I've ever had. It took me until past the halfway point to be truly invested and interested in the story, but the second half more than made up for it. I loved how fast-paced this book was and how well-developed all the characters were.
Most of the things I didn't enjoy about the book were not the book's fault but were because of my personal taste and reading experience. I thought the first half was info-dumpy and too slow. I was overwhelmed with the many characters and the complicated politics between the clans. I really thought I wasn't going to like this book.
But alas, I did like it and will definitely be continuing on with the series.
