The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie
5.0
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is told from Dr. James Sheppard’s point of view. I was a bit confused at first because my first 2 Poirot books that I read was written in the third person point of view. So at first I was a bit dizzy trying to figure out who, but then I realized, oh it’s Dr. Sheppard because they address him quite a lot after.
The amazing thing about this book is the misdirections all throughout the book. Of course, Hercule Poirot, being him, he already figured it out way before us readers do. But… OH. MY. GOD. The plot twists to everything are confounding! One minute you thought this character was TOTALLY innocent but then found out they’re the most guilty one out of them all.
I love how in Christie’s book, there’s always graphics of the victim’s house or blueprints, it’s so exciting to see it. Gives us readers something to strengthen our imagination of the story even more. I love it when books have graphics like this. Looking forward to see it more in my future Poirot books or any of her books for that matter.
I would highly recommend this book to fans of crime literature. It is enthralling from the very first page. It will get you hooked for sure. 100/10 sure you will love it and want more as I do
