I came to Yarros from Fourth Wing and wanted to check out her other works. And I am so glad that I stepped out and tried something different of hers.

I am not a big fan of ballet. My middle school dance teacher ruined any chance of my loving to dance. If I had to pick a character to relate to it would be Catherine, without the opinion that all dancers have distorted body issues and are automatically stuck up. I knew and was friends with dancers in high school, so I am aware of  the strength and dedication that it takes to stand out swell as the dangers that befall on those who struggle with body image and society's expectations. Bailet is one tough demanding sport, it is not for the faint of heart. But it is also beautiful, magical and emotional. What impressed me the most is the intricacy and detail that Yarros put into her characters and dancers. Not once did I doubt that Ali was a dancer.

While I was just expecting a well written romance, this book delivered so much more than that. The characters were well thought out and developed, they were like real people.  This was not one of Yarros' most emotional romances (or so I've been told) but it does carry a lot of emotional weight.I enjoyed this story and would love to get a glimpse of these characters as they move on throughout their lives.

I also believe that this is a good entry point for anyone who is new to Yarros or if you are coming to her from Fourth Wing.
