Although Josh is not my favorite love interest amongst the books this was one of my favorite books of the series anyway. Although he frustrated me at times, I felt it highlighted the very ugly and emotional side of his experience, from guilt, grief, running both from and towards difficult circumstances and facing his own demons. I love Ember’s character, and loved that we got to see more of Paisley and Jagger (definitely read this series in order). This book felt more emotional to me than the prior few (oof my heart 😭), and I got a little teary eyed on occasion. I’ve really enjoyed this series and the threads and relationships between the various characters across them!
