Spice Me Up by J.F. Miev, Aria Clark

This is a cute read to begin readying yourself for the holidays!
The writing is good; I do wish there were more descriptive sentences in place of the shorter ones because they make the flow less choppy, in my opinion. (“He has nice eyes. They are a rich brown that leans toward whiskey. The crown of wild black curls that frame his angular face make them pop.” I’m not going to rewrite the author’s work, but I’ll say I’m an embarrassingly huge fan of both the comma and the em dash, and I feel that authors sometimes push them to the back of the punctuation line when, in my opinion, they can greatly improve the flow of a sentence/paragraph.)
There are thirteen chapters and an epilogue in a bit less than two hundred pages; the last three or so chapters and the epilogue definitely put on the Hallmark special cheese. It’s a feel-good holiday treat.
(I received a free ARC copy from BookSirens; this is my honest review.)
