Talia by Daniel J. Volpe

2.0

Got this one as I heard a few people on Instagram raving about it... But, it ain't very good, sorry!
This is just a twisted man's sick fantasies put into a not very well written story.
It felt too concentrated on the extream sex, rather than the actual horror for me to enjoy it. Sure, sex and horror go hand in hand a lot of the time. But this story wasn't scary, or fun, it was just kind of creepy, and not in a good way. It also felt very much like how a man would think a woman might act if having to do these things, and it didn't come off well.
Also, the last 3rd of the book goes very suddenly into a monster novel and felt like a completely different book all together. Why the main character went from submersive to a crazy revenge demon was a bit jarring for the plot, and again, just didn't work very well.
Now I see the style of this author I will not be getting any more of these novels.
For me this is a 1.5 star book, only just, and only because I've read worse...!
