Becoming Horses by Disa Wallander

4.0

Becoming Horses is a long-form philosophical comic where three characters travel through an imaginary world and learn about what it means to be human. Disa Wallander's drawings seem simple and rough at first but it becomes clear that everything in her work is very deliberate, including the messiness and abstraction. The figures often appear on a background of collage, painting or close-up photography, manifesting the art and meaning they are in search of. Full of moments of humour and insight that are worth appreciating.
