My third Eve Babitz read, and she’s as enticing as ever. The “other half of LA” (the counterpart being Joan Didion) told through the eyes of someone who lives the scene, rather than observes it. Her writing is unsparing and visceral, taking you to the heart of both the debauchery and the beauty of every situation she finds herself in.
