“I was powerless, pathetic, defective. A Watcher.”
“The message was obvious. I was staring at my future. It was either breed or burn.”
“You like being f*cked by a pack of wolves.”
Watchers is the second book in a series of interconnected standalones. I haven’t read the first book in the series, but that didn’t affect my reading experience.
I liked the relationship development between the FMC, Syl, and the MMC, Bash (or Ashton). The start of their relationship was unconventional, and at times their relationship was a bit rocky, but I liked how it turned out in the end.
At times, I was a bit annoyed with Syl and how selfish she was, not really understanding that other people might have problems too. Ash, on the other hand, was someone I liked straight from the beginning. He was calculated and smart, and I liked how his goal always was to protect Syl, willing to risk everything for her.
I would have loved to learn more about the world itself, as I think it would have brought more depth to the story.
Overall an interesting and captivating read.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
