Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I quite simply adored this book. I was unaware of any of the context of the story, which the author shared at the end, so I had not realised how much of it came from history. I love how the author wove these facts with a beautiful, poignant narrative and some truly captivating characters. 

There were moments when I audibly gasped, when I laughed out loud, and when I had to make an effort not to cry. A really great read!
