I can see myself re-reading this cute little book on cold, stormy, or dark nights. Its a very cozy and simple middle grade about Kiki, a coming of age witch who is finding herself and building a little community as she leaves home for the first time.
I absolutely adored Kiki and her cat Jiji <3, they’re the cutest and compliment each other so well. The friends Kiki finds a long the way are fun characters as well; I only wish they would show a bit more appreciation or gratitude to Kiki when they ask her of favors, however Kiki never falters in her kindness.
By the time I got to the end of Kiki’s story, I only wished to know what comes next in her adventures. Even though I’m not usually a fan of epilogues, at just under 200 pages, I feel like readers would’ve enjoyed learning what Kiki’s been up to a few months or years down the road.
