This book has great scares when it decides to be scary, but unfortunately, that’s not often. Overwhelmingly, this book is a bunch of 20-somethings having really boring and annoying conversations about how they all simultaneously hate each other and want to fuck each other. I really love the Appalachian setting and small town feel, but I cannot fucking endure one more long conversation about how pathetic Isaac and Laurel’s lives are. The scares simply aren’t good enough to make it worth it.
