When I first heard about the movie based on this book, I thought "looks like more testosterone-fueled angsty crap" - then I saw the movie, was mesmerized, and went to the bookstore to pick up a copy and read the whole thing the very same night. This is one of those books I will re-read over and over again, I had to buy a 2nd copy because I loaned the first one out so much it got wrecked.
