I don't like to slow a burn but this book could have done with slowing down a bit.  There was too much too soon, too intense too soon. 

I wasn't sold on the love story which made the whole thing a bit cringe in the last half, which is a shame as I saw potential in the first part. 

I might finish the series as I'd bought it but we shall see.
