This book was. Not my cup of tea. The writing itself was good. The author definitely has a talent for wielding language.

However.

The everything else was the problem.

I have no idea how this book managed to have a why choose situation with triple sword crossing and still read like a tradwife fetish work. That’s a special skill.

I may have deconstructed, but I was raised southern conservative, so I love a good age gap, but this made me feel ten kinds of gross. The fmc is sixteen (notably legal-ish where the author is from) and the story leans hard into that. From the fmc’s fear of “growing up” to the mmcs agreeing to let her get some world experience before they make their move (while simultaneously fantasizing about her body with each other) her age is at the absolute forefront of the whole plot.

She’s also very “not like other girls”. Intimidated by makeup, loves cooking and cleaning for the mmcs, utterly innocent and nurturing. She’s the ideal I used to strive for, back when my favorite accessory was the purity ring my dad gave me.

Maybe I’m being too harsh and this book will help someone with their trauma or just be a fun read for some. It was, unfortunately, not that for me. I won’t be moving on to the next book.

Also, side note, I feel like every other line was referencing either a past book or a future one with all the random throuples being commented on. That was a weird vibe.
