2013 "thoughts": <3

2024 thoughts: I read this for the first time in 2013, so I was due for a reread since I'm getting ready to read The Lord of the Rings for the first time.

This was so lovely. It was fun and super adventurous. I read with a smile most of the time because these characters are all just so great to read about. They're all witty, brave, kind, funny...

Also, many of the chapters felt like short stories because they had a beginning, middle, and end, so it kinda felt like reading a bunch of connected short stories.

Overall, it's a great book. I'm so excited to get into TLOR, but that will likely happen in 2025 cause I need to focus on my end-of-the-year TBR.
