Slewfoot: A Tale of Bewitchery by Brom

4.0

This is how closed-minded societies make witches out of women.

Abitha is just a God-fearing woman living a quiet life on a secluded farm, but after her husband disappears and is considered dead, she's threatened by his brother who intends to greedily take away her land and put her in her place.

In her fight for her crop and her life threatened by false accusations of being a witch by townsfolk who try to cover up their cowardly behavior by motivation of holy standards set by faith, she reconnects with the women from her ancestry and spirits of the nature. While finding her own strength, she also helps Slewfoot, the Devil himself, to find his true nature and recover his memories of a past life.

Brom surely picked one important death to make us care deeply about the revenge of the just in this story...
