Joe Abercrombie does it again. I didn't fall in love with the book as fast as with The Blade Itself, but the amazing writing, scenes and characters made me happier and giddier than grimdark stories should.
There are quite a few POV characters, and while I sometimes thought they were maybe too many, I really liked them all, though I must admid it took me until near the ending to absolutely adore them. All their stories already came together perfectly and everyone was used most effectively, including scenes that hit so very hard. Seriously, sometimes I needed to take a break from reading and just sat there, reflecting on these characters and how much I feel for these bastards.
