Summary
When Bobbi and Benjamin meet in person for the first time, a miscommunication leads to hostilities between the two. For the next year, their relationship is a mix of avoidance and sarcastic, witty banter. Then Kareena and Prem get engaged and task the two of them with planning the wedding together. Will their passionate banter explode into other passions? Will their busy schedules get in the way of happily ever after?

Thoughts
Nisha Sharma has done it again! I absolutely adored this book. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times throughout the story, from their banter, the aunties, and their lifelong friendships. The secondary characters were three dimensional and a big part of the story. I'm already excited to read Veera and Deepak's! Nisha Sharma is such a fantastic writer. I could taste the food Benjamin made, picture myself at Bobbi's events, and experience the tumultuous feelings between the two. I appreciate the way Bobbi's size was written. Despite her being plus sized, it is just a part of her character, not a huge part of the narrative. Benjamin's clear and enthusiastic appreciation for every part of her body (and mind, intellect, ambition) was healing to read. Honestly, he had me swooning for most of the book. His pet name for Bobbi says it all: sapno ki rani.

A few of my favorite quotes (marking as a spoiler in case you don't want to read but there aren't any plot point spoilers mentioned):
  • This one is for the people in my past who’ve judged me by my weight and underestimated my worth. Your poor math skills have only added to my value. (Dedication)
  • “She smelled of gardenias. The scent was intoxicating, and he wanted a taste so badly.”
  • “Okay, maybe he could start with being nice. But when he antagonized her, she was at least looking at him.”
  • “‘If you don’t know how to tie it-‘ ‘Relax. I know my way around strings and ropes better than most people.’”
  • “Bobbi and Benjamin went back and forth, answering their questions as if they were being interrogated by the CIA. Only this was worse.”
  • “She’d never known how thrilling it was to be with a man with whom she could act as her whole self. There were no filters, no second guesses."
