Furlong is a poor Irishman just trying to do the best he can for his family of 5 daughters. This brief story, based on a real-life controversy in Ireland, tells us a little about Furlong’s upbringing and follows him for a day or two around Christmas. It is a moving story that captures the plight of the poor quite well. May only problem with it, is all of Keegan’s books are about 100 pages long yet they still cost $20 each. I need a little more content for a full Jackson, Jackson! Otherwise, it’s a good read and will probably make a lot of folks cry.
