They were surprisingly bad at their jobs. The author had some hobby horses he wanted to ride, so occasionally a character would jump wildly out of character so the author could prove a point or ramble. The men especially came across as amazingly dumb. The women spoke most of their lines from "what men who hate feminism think feminists say although no real people ever say this". It was incredibly long and the characters didn't influence the plot much, so it was also dull.
