This book is simultaniously awsome and awfull. Our heroïne Elizabeth Zod is uncompromising in a time and world where women are undervalued and pushed around. Not worth more then how they look and what they can do for men.
This is a story told in a no nonsens straight forward way. It deals with misogyny, religious sellots, rasism and social construcs like marriage. It will make you think about all these things see how far we have come and how far we still have to go.
In the end this is a story about found family, doing what is right andd taking live as it comes.
