Pigeon-Blood Red by Ed Duncan

4.0

I loved the fast paced plot and all the drama, suspense and action.
It's a compelling read that draws together marriage infidelities, tracking down stolen goods, crime boss retaliations, revenge and luck.
Rico the enforcer must track down a stolen Ruby necklace which becomes an international hunt with mistaken identities, bad timing, and intricate twists of fate.
Evelyn is trying to enjoy a vacation in Honolulu, and navigating the drama between her soon to be ex-husband, an old flame, and her friend, and soon finds herself on the run from unknown threats.
The characters were entertaining and I liked the snippets of their back stories.
It was creative seeing how their lives overlapped and the consequences of events playing out.
It blurs the lines of loyalty, justice revenge and retaliation, and although a shorter book a lot happens and it keeps you hooked till the end.
Luckily there are 2 more books out in the series, so I'm intrigued to see more of Rico's antics and drama from his gangster life.
