I loved this - definitely best for you if you enjoy being confused and cross-referencing backwards and forwards to figure out little mysteries. Not 'easy'. Reminded me a little bit of Piranesi, but with a lot of interesting modern discourse brought in around identity, Fandom, politics... I could say too much here so I won't, but a lot of these themes are in heavy rotation around my dinner table so it was all interesting to me. I can't decide if it 100% lands the ending - it's literary rather than tidy. Also I went down the rabbit hole reading reviews and some people don't like the main character(s). If so, that will be a problem for you. I read chapter 1, which is all about meeting the main character and was all-in, knowing nothing at all about the plot. Turned out I also loved the plot! Anyways, cool book, very ambitious and weird. Maybe if you liked Piranesi but also Severance, that would be a pretty good predictor of liking this book? Something like that.
