I cried three times while reading this book (one was the acknowledgments, but I think that counts).
Zeller’s writing is so efficient, every word funny and sweet and clever. I laughed out loud multiple times (more than just multiple), but One of the Boys is more than a funny book— it has so much heart. A cast this big could feel unwieldy in another writer’s less-skilled hands, but Zeller creates not just a large cast but a community.
I’m feeling ineloquent, so I’ll end this by saying: this book is stunning. I adore Grace. I adore every other character. Let’s go lesbians let’s go 👏🏻
