Acts of Service by Lillian Fishman
3.0
completely gray is how i’d describe this book. you’d think it’d be making a sharp and clear point because of the theme and it’s graphic descriptions of sex, but instead, it leaves you (or maybe just me) wondering where i stand and who i stand with. you are left to make the decision for yourself, or simply understand that sexuality, identity and relationships can be gray areas.
i don’t see myself within any of the three main characters. but that made it interesting. i agree with other reviewers who said the monologues of Eve and the other characters felt a little empty — like they were *almost* saying something important, but in the end, weren’t. a little frustrating, but i feel like i’ll be thinking about this book for a while.
