I’m not really sure what to say about this book. First off, it starts with Tyler finding and rescuing an abducted girl who has been held captive and abused for 10 years. So she’s obviously underdeveloped mentally and physically.

Not only was she extremely abused, but psychologically her brain is stuck in the spot when she was taken which I believe was at 8 years old. So when this guy saves her, she’s thinking he’s her prince and keeps that logic and repeats it over and over whenever she had ptsd.

Tyler apparently doesn’t speak except he still speaks, just not to everyone. Selective mutism. My biggest issue with this book was that it approached extremely heavy topics but I felt like there was no justice or healing. It was the saving, and her getting out but not really having the space to be happy and most importantly free.

I dnf’d it half-way through because it was physically paining me how repetitive it was and the plot went nowhere. Lots to work with but no writing determination. Characters were very one-dimensional. 1/5 stars
