Mindwalker by A.J. Steiger

5.0

Mindwalker by A.J Steiger could be described as a mashup of The Glimpse by Claire Merle and Slated by Terri Terry. Only it handles the issue of mental illness much better and a lot more powerfully and it takes memory changing and control differently. I'd say in that case that the book is better then The Glimpse and as good as Slated.

Characterization in Mindwalker is amazing, not only do you have a character who realises she might have to do bad things to do good but you have two boys who are broken and aren't afraid to know it. I know the broody boy is usually a cliche but in this book you can seriously understand Steven's reasons and he really deserves love.

The plot isn't anything particularly new for a dystopian series but the storytelling and characters certainly make up for it. This is a really good book and I would seriously recommend it.
