Great language and writing but damn was the pacing slow. There were times when the story would lag and get boring. I set it down for a few weeks because I couldn’t stand it and hated the fact that it wasn’t as compelling as the first book.
I loved the characters but one thing that held me up was the very minor LGBT+ reference made at the end about a certain character and I was like...”okay can we back up and pretend this never happened please?”...because it felt so strange. I mean maybe I could see it happening and being a thing but just putting it in there at the end was random.
I thought the ending was too neat and perfect. I was expecting much much much more and was left hanging. :/ It was kind of a let down.
