Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

3.0

This is the much more concrete set of tidying instructions. Helpful, but still a bit one-dimensional.
I really appreciated her views about the "energies" of an object. It explains why I'm drawn to quality second hand items. I'm not just being cheap!
I think her first book is more helpful in explaining her theories, and more motiving to start the actual purging process. This book seems to answer more of the nitpicky questions of those who want everything perfect. I can't be convinced that arranging my clothes by color gradation in my drawers is worth my time.
She finally admits at the end of the book, that her tactics may not be the ultimate, perfect answer for everyone who follows her instructions. Kondo is now married, with 1 child. She still maintains that tidying is contagious, so if I complete my tidying process, my children will suddenly be tidy, too. teeheehee. Perhaps even her third book will contain genius information for achieving a permanently tidy house with a toddler. Or maybe it will simply be an apology. :)
