A Mermaid's Kiss by Joey W. Hill

5.0

The cover's cheesy and so's the title, but the story itself, now that's another story. Why is it that the greatest stories hide themselves beneath unappealing covers and misleading titles? We'll never know.

What I do know, though, is that this story is well-written, structured and atmospheric. And I'm at a loss for words right now by how this whole novel turned out. It doesn't make mermaids and angels sound cheesy at all as a book of this type would have. No. It actually sells you the story in a surprisingly non-annoying way. I'm just... Wow. The smut's stimulating as well even though some of the scenes were a little weird for my taste. This read was just so unexpectedly great that I still can't fully fathom the words needed to describe this wondrous novel. My apologies.
