Minor: Kidnapping and Classism
The entire series can touch on some pretty heavy themes and topics. While it is historical fiction, it emphasizes the historical part in terms of displaying abuse of power and authority that may make some people uncomfortable. in a much later volume, it will discuss how the former emperor, NOT THE CURRENT ONE, was a pedophile and the trauma he inflicted on the empress consort and many other young girls while he was alive. So far, this was the most uncomfortable topic in the series for me. It's not graphic but sonething importabt to mention.
