The Private Lives of Trees by Alejandro Zambra

2.0

This was more of a short story than a novel, under 100 pages in my edition. I didn't particularly like it. It "tells the story of one night", but it's really more a rambling, almost stream of consciousness mix between what Julián is thinking about his wife's late arrival, memories of the past, and at the end, a little bit of speculation about the future. It's beautifully written, but I found it boring.
