A retelling of Huck Finn. For some reason the first half was hard to get through. I did feel like it was following along with the classic structure. But then around the 50% mark, I understood what the author was doing. The second half of the novel is propulsive and surprising and you’re just along for the ride. This book made me laugh, cry and feel a lot of things which is how I know it’s a very good book and deserving of all the praise it’s received.
