Lost Crows and Fallen Stars by Abelia Sumpter
5.0
Margot wakes in a hospital bed with bodily injuries and no memory. She does not remember anything, who she is, where she is and definitely not who she is married to. Milo, Margot’s husband, is the king or Colum of Inmicus making her the Queen or Columess. But why does she have such an innate hatred for Milo? What happened to her memories and will she get them back?
Margot seeks the truth in who she is all while trying to fit into her new role by governing Imnicus against the rebels of Lavenai. Spending more time with Milo, Margot feels an emotional pull that she can not shake. However, after a mission to Lavenai, Margot slowly discovers there might be more to the bonds she formed with her new found friends in Imnicus.
For fans of The Hunger Games and Red Queen, Sumpter brings us an extraordinary enemy to lovers, and a steamy slow burn!!! The world building and character development done by Abelia is truly appreciated. I felt something was off about the narrative in the beginning which enticed me to want more and more. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
