A Secret History of Witches by Louisa Morgan
3.0
I'll be honest, as much as I love witches and their narrative, this book wasn't IT.
It was a fun read, for sure, but many things ended up bothering me.
First of all, there is a lot of french and even though the author thanks her friend for proof-reading it, it was full of mistakes. It seems this is one of my pet-peeves...
Furthermore, I felt like the cycles for each generation were too short and gave no time to feel attachment to the witches. Also, the general story did not amount to much, and only somehow repeated itself.
Finally, this book outlined an issue I've had about witches and essentialism...Witchcraft has so much potential to be empowering for all women...However, the effort to enforce (biological) motherhood as a necessity to pass on the craft disappoints me..
