Avogadro Corp by William Hertling

4.0

An anti-utopia that warns us about what could happen with the AI once it starts taking over communication between humans. It's not quite Skynet or The Architect but still quite scary.

The book has an agenda and the details wouldn't matter. For example, no self-respecting Gary would use email. Gary would be on IRC. He would know when David merges the ELOPe code.

Just because this vector of taking over a Google-sized company isn't particularly realistic doesn't mean the final result can't happen in some other way. The book serves as a warning. I would put it in the same group as Cory Doctorow's Little Brother.

The reason for the 4 is that it is unpleasant to read compared to Little Brother.
