The Rebels by Joshua Green

4.0

A great contextualization of how Warren, Sanders, and AOC rose to the political occasion. It leans heavily towards Warren (roughly 60% of the text), moderately towards later-career Sanders (30%), and just the beginning of AOC (10%) and democratic-socialists in general. Each story, told in mostly chronological order, centers on leftism in general and how it's been shaped by the political cadre over time. Because Joshua Green works as a journalist for Bloomberg, he always has an eye on the real data of events like the Great Recession, which is a welcome relief from the standard political (propagandist) biographies of these figures.
