This was the right book for me. I realized lately that I've never encountered a Christian teaching about relationships that isn't gendered. This book was a great antidote, without being exclusively egalitarian. It was extremely spiritual, while espousing everyday, unsexy sacrifice. The only part I am skeptical about is when they say you should never talk about your fights or sex with nonprofessionals. I like the idea of being protective and enjoying, is place for taking discretely in the context of trustworthy community.
