Starr is there the night a cop shoots her friend, Khalil. She knows he was unarmed. She knows he was complying with the cop. She knows the cop turned his gun on her for no other reason than that she was black. But it's her word against his. She wants to speak out for her friend but she's witnessed the injustice of the world too many times to believe it can do any good. But she also knows deep down that nothing will ever change if she stays silent. Now, Starr must decide whether or not to use her voice to fight for change and risk everything.

This book was so good and very eye opening and thought provoking. It was filled with emotion from start to finish. It was an enlightening and powerful narrative about strength and injustice. The author did an amazing job of bringing the story to life and making the reader feel the frustration and emotions of the characters and had you screaming for justice right along with them. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
