Happy Hour by Jacquie Byron

3.0

A truly charming debut written with wit and warmth. The protagonist is flawed, cantankerous and yet utterly compelling (even if I did want to take her by the shoulders and give her a shake at points). This little gem was exactly the heart-warming ray of sunshine I needed to divert my attention from the darkness in the world. Part of finding a great book is knowing exactly the balm your soul needs at that moment. It's a great summer holiday read without being frivolous
