I thought this book was very interesting as a style of mystery novel that I have not read before. The reader is pretty sure (although not certain) from the beginning who has committed the murder and why but not how the crime was accomplished. By following the detectives through the investigation, not only is the method of murder revealed, but a deeper appreciation for the motivations is gained. I would not say I liked this book exactly - the characters are difficult to connect with and certain cultural elements are possibly lost in the translation, but I appreciate the craft that went into it and would recommend it to a mystery-lover looking to expand their view of the genre.
