Where to begin…. This series was a SLOW burn. Hilo, Wen, Shae, Niko, and Anden are so precious to me. The ending had me in tears of sadness and joy (simultaneously) the constant struggle back and forth between the mountain and no peak was my favorite part of the story. I appreciated the expansion of jade and complexity of the overall political makeup of their world but the clan tension was the bread and butter of this story. It had the most impact on me. Ayt Mada is such a good villain/adversary. She and Shaes meetings are so well written. I feel bitter sweet about finishing this up. Such a poetic ending with the family at the twice lucky🥹I really enjoyed this final book. Kaul Hilo, may the gods recognize him.
